Over the water!

Im sitting on the coach that is taking us to the ferry port where we will cross to Vancouver Island. We have been told that we may well see whales and dolphins. It only takes a couple of hours. It's very hot so should be a good crossing. The past two days have been full, we have visited Granville Island  which was a little disappointing as the brochures had it as a romantic place with boutique type market. It was a little tatty.  However, the water trip over to Vanier park, Kitsilano Beach was pleasant. We were there for Bard on the Beach.  A MIdsummer Nights dream. Not literally on the beach but it had a marvellous open back stage through which you could see yachts passing in the background.  It was absolutely fantastic! modernised with amazing costumes, dance and very appropriate modern music. But in the original language with Canadian lilt! I really had to concentrate. I think all children should see an adaptation like this and they would love Shakespeare forever! I have to say before I saw this it wasn't my favourite.  Unfortunately we were asked not to take photographs.
