Simply Victoria Island

We didn't catch sight of any dolphins or whales on the sailing to Victoria unfortunately. We had a good journey apart from the coach driver at the start of the journey belittling me for putting my suitcase on the coach without his permission (why would I do that he kept saying)  Firstly he was standing talking to the guy in the next bay and we didn't know who he was and secondly, although I was so cross I didn't have the presence of mind to tell him, that when you live on your own it's pointless standing around waiting for people to do things for you.  Think he was having a bad day as he went up and down the bus telling various passengers off for some demeanour or the other. Giving instructions to us on how we were to be back on the coach ten minutes before we docked he said if we weren't we would be left behind. He then revealed that he had lost 17 passengers in the past two weeks! I think he may have pushed them overboard on the way over! The mind boggles. We thought he might be happy to leave us behind so we scuttled down to the parking deck well on time.

Vancouver Island is an utterly charming place, our condo is near the inner harbour. This is the place to stroll after dinner. It has street entertainers by the dozen. Very good ones too. It does however, have very raucous seagulls and lots of them. Janice has bought ear plugs!  Our first night we had a lot of noise from the nightclub over the road. I was woken up by the noise from the people leaving but evidently 'things' were going on in the alley next to us. We are on the third floor so how Janice could hear that I don't know. Thankfully last night was better.

In Canada it seems they only eat porridge ready mixed with anything really, fruit, nuts, maple flavoured etc etcetera . But with loads of sugar.  Leaving Janice to catch up on her beauty sleep I snook off to Willies bakery around the corner for breakfast. Boy what a menu. I decided on Western Sandwich which was a tomato, cheese, onion and bacon omelette on freshly baked brown bread with cubed potatoes.

Sitting outside in this beautiful courtyard was an excellent way to start my day!
